At the south end of Hakuba Valley, Kashimayari Ski Resort is an ideal family resort. With two base areas, one accessible from Hakuba and the other from Omachi, the resort offers pleasant, kid-friendly runs. The upper base is shaped like a bowl, and all runs end back at the chalet, providing peace of mind for parents who want to let their kids roam independently. I enjoy Kashimayari on a powder day, as it is often less tracked and has some excellent intermediate powder runs.
