Hakuba 47 Ski Resort is a popular ski resort in Nagano, Japan. It is known for its excellent snow quality and diverse terrain, making it a favorite destination for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Hakuba 47: Ski Terrain & Trails

Hakuba 47 offers a mix of intermediate, advanced, and black runs. The mountain features diverse terrain, catering to various skiing abilities.

The area at mid-station from the gondola is beginner-friendly, and the cat track is an excellent route to the bottom.

Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park has 8 piste runs and some of Hakuba’s best lift-accessible tree skiing.

Beginner Terrain

  • Route 5: This is a steeper green run from the top gondola station to the A-B pair lift.
  • Route 6: This gentle slope is ideal for beginners exploring a confidence-building run. One steeper section just above the lift should be taken with caution.
  • Route 7: This long cat track to the bottom of the gondola is an excellent route for kids looking to gain some mileage. The second last section of the run is steeper, and beginners should be cautious when attempting.

Intermediate Terrain

  • Route 1: A long red run from along the southernmost ridge of the resort. You can take this back to the base of Line C or continue down to the gondola base.
  • Route 8: Although listed as a green run, this cat track has steeper sections that make it more akin to a red.

Advanced Terrain

  • Route 2: This black diamond run offers steeper, often ungroomed terrain suitable for experienced skiers.
  • Route 3: Show your mogul skills on this double black diamond that ends directly above the gondola building.

Off-Piste Terrain

  • Open Tree Zone: Open trees between the cat tracks that offer excellent turns for confident powder skiers
  • Tree Riding Zone: Access to this area requires you to watch a safety video and sign a waiver at Alice between 9 AM and 10 AM. The trees are steep and quite often have bottomless powder.

Terrain Park

The Hakuba 47 terrain park is renowned as the best in the Hakuba Valley, attracting freestyle enthusiasts from all over the globe.
